License Policy

Effective Date: 18th may 2026

Last Updated: 18th may 2026

Welcome to WebbyTemplate.

These Author Terms & Policy explain the rules that apply when you apply to become an author, create an author profile, submit digital products, list products for sale, provide product support, receive earnings, request withdrawals, or otherwise participate as a seller on WebbyTemplate.

These Author Terms & Policy apply in addition to WebbyTemplate’s Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, Cookie Policy product guidelines, Help Center articles, and any other marketplace rules published by WebbyTemplate.

By applying as an author, creating an author account, submitting products, uploading files, requesting payouts, or continuing to participate in the WebbyTemplate marketplace, you agree to these Author Terms & Policy.

1. Important Summary

WebbyTemplate currently offers three main license types:

  • License TypeUsage Limit
  • Personal License1 Site / 1 Project / 1 End Product
  • Commercial License5 Sites / 5 Projects / 5 End Products
  • Agency License30 Sites / 30 Projects / 30 End Products

Each license applies only to the specific product purchased under that license.

A license gives you the right to use the purchased product according to the selected license type. It does not transfer ownership of the original product, source files, intellectual property, or author rights.

2. Meaning of “Site,” “Project,” and “End Product”

For website-related products, “Site” generally means one live website, domain, client website, business website, or final website project.

For non-website products, such as graphics, presentations, UI kits, photos, illustrations, or design assets, the license limit applies to products or end products instead of sites.

Examples:

  • example.com = 1 site
  • client1.com = 1 site
  • client2.com = another site
  • one customized presentation for one business = 1 project
  • one final mobile app interface using a UI kit = 1 end product
  • one brand campaign using a graphic asset = 1 project

A final end product means the final customized work created using the purchased product, such as a completed website, customized design, client project, presentation, landing page, mobile app interface, marketing material, or similar finished work.

3. Staging, Local, and Test Environments

Staging, local development, preview, or test environments do not count as separate sites if they are used only for the same final live site or project.

Examples:

  • localhost for example.com does not count separately.
  • staging.example.com for example.com does not count separately.
  • dev.example.com for the same final website does not count separately.

However, if a staging or subdomain environment becomes a separate live project, separate client project, separate business website, or separate final end product, it may count as an additional site or project.

4. Subdomains

Subdomains may count as part of the same site if they belong to the same business, same project, and same final website experience.

Examples that may count as one site:

  • example.com
  • shop.example.com
  • blog.example.com
  • support.example.com

However, subdomains may count as separate sites if they are used for different businesses, different clients, different brands, different products, or separate final projects.

Examples that may count separately:

  • client1.agency.com
  • client2.agency.com
  • brandA.example.com
  • brandB.example.com

WebbyTemplate may review unusual usage cases based on the actual purpose of the site or project.

5. License Applies Per Product

Each license applies to one purchased product only.

For example, if you purchase Template A with a Commercial License, you may use Template A for up to 5 permitted sites or projects. That license does not allow you to use Template B, Template C, or any other product unless you purchase those products separately.

If you need to use the same product beyond the limit of your purchased license, you must purchase a higher license or an additional license where available.

6. Personal License — 1 Site

A Personal License allows you to use the purchased product for 1 site, 1 project, or 1 final end product.

You may use a Personal License for:

  • your own personal website;
  • your own business website;
  • one client website;
  • one final project;
  • one customized end product.

A Personal License is suitable when you need the product for one website, one client, one business, or one final project only.

You may customize the product, combine it with your own content, and deliver the final customized end product to one client, as long as you do not redistribute or resell the original product files.

7. Commercial License — 5 Sites

A Commercial License allows you to use the purchased product for up to 5 sites, 5 projects, or 5 final end products.

You may use a Commercial License for:

  • up to 5 own websites;
  • up to 5 client websites;
  • up to 5 business projects;
  • up to 5 customized end products;
  • a combination of own and client projects, up to the total limit of 5.

A Commercial License is suitable for freelancers, small agencies, business owners, and teams who need to use the same product across multiple permitted projects.

You may charge clients for your service work, customization, implementation, setup, design work, or development work, as long as your use stays within the 5-site/project limit and you do not resell or redistribute the original product files.

8. Agency License — 30 Sites

An Agency License allows you to use the purchased product for up to 30 sites, 30 projects, or 30 final end products.

You may use an Agency License for:

  • up to 30 client websites;
  • up to 30 internal business websites;
  • up to 30 marketing or landing page projects;
  • up to 30 customized end products;
  • agency, studio, or team project work within the 30-site/project limit.

An Agency License is suitable for agencies, studios, freelancers with multiple clients, development teams, and businesses managing multiple projects.

You may charge clients for service work, customization, implementation, setup, design work, or development work, as long as the product is used only within the 30-site/project limit and the original product files are not resold, redistributed, or made available as a reusable template.

9. Client Work and Freelancer/Agency Use

Freelancers, developers, designers, consultants, and agencies may use WebbyTemplate products for client work within the limits of the purchased license.

You may:

  • customize the product for a client;
  • charge the client for your services;
  • deliver the final customized website, design, or end product to the client;
  • transfer the final customized end product to the client;
  • include the final customized work in your portfolio, unless restricted by your client agreement.

You may not give the client the right to reuse the original WebbyTemplate product for other projects unless the client has a valid license for that use.

For each client site or client project, the usage must stay within the purchased license limit.

10. License Transfer to Client

If you purchase a WebbyTemplate product for a client project, you may transfer the final customized end product to that client.

However:

  • the client may use the final customized end product only for the licensed site or project;
  • the client does not receive ownership of the original WebbyTemplate product;
  • the client may not reuse the original product files for other projects;
  • the client may not resell, share, upload, or redistribute the original product files;
  • the license limit still applies.

If the client wants to reuse the product for additional sites or projects beyond the purchased license limit, a separate or higher license is required.

11. What You Can Do

Depending on the license type purchased, you may:

  • download and use the product for the allowed number of sites, projects, or end products;
  • customize, edit, modify, or adapt the product for permitted use;
  • use the product for personal, business, or client projects;
  • create final customized websites, designs, presentations, graphics, interfaces, or similar end products;
  • charge clients for your own customization, setup, design, development, or service work;
  • use the final customized end product commercially;
  • combine the product with your own content, branding, images, copy, or code;
  • transfer the final customized end product to a client within the license limit.

12. What You Cannot Do

You may not:

  • resell the original product;
  • resell a modified version of the product as a template, theme, asset, plugin, source file, or stock item;
  • upload the product to another marketplace;
  • share the product files publicly or privately outside the permitted project;
  • give away the product for free;
  • include the product in a template library, asset library, theme collection, or downloadable bundle;
  • sell or distribute the product source files;
  • allow others to download, extract, copy, or reuse the original product files;
  • use one license for more sites, projects, or end products than allowed;
  • falsely claim ownership or authorship of the original product;
  • remove copyright, license, or attribution notices where legally required;
  • use the product in a way that violates law, third-party rights, or WebbyTemplate policies.

13. No Resale or Redistribution of Source Files

WebbyTemplate products are licensed for use in final customized end products. They are not licensed for resale, redistribution, sharing, or repackaging as source files.

You may not resell or redistribute:

  • original ZIP files;
  • template files;
  • theme files;
  • plugin files;
  • source code;
  • editable design files;
  • Figma files;
  • PSD, AI, XD, Sketch, or similar files;
  • fonts, icons, images, or other bundled assets;
  • documentation files;
  • demo content;
  • modified versions that are still substantially based on the original product.

Even if you modify a product, you may not sell or distribute it as a competing template, theme, design asset, UI kit, plugin, code product, or marketplace item.

14. Website Builders, Template Builders, and SaaS Restrictions

You may not use WebbyTemplate products in a way that allows other users to create, download, generate, customize, or export websites, templates, graphics, designs, or source files from the product.

This restriction applies even if you purchase an Agency License.

You may not use WebbyTemplate products inside:

  • website builders;
  • template builders;
  • design generators;
  • AI design generators;
  • SaaS template libraries;
  • app builders;
  • page builder libraries for resale;
  • print-on-demand tools;
  • download-on-demand platforms;
  • stock asset platforms;
  • theme generators;
  • marketplace products;
  • “create your own template” tools.

This type of use requires separate written permission from WebbyTemplate.

15. Paid Websites, Memberships, Apps, and SaaS Products

You may use a WebbyTemplate product as part of a paid website, paid membership website, client portal, SaaS dashboard, application interface, or similar commercial end product, as long as:

  • the product is used as part of the final end product;
  • the usage stays within the purchased license limit;
  • users cannot download, extract, reuse, or redistribute the original product files;
  • the product is not offered as a template, theme, asset, or source file;
  • the final product does not compete with WebbyTemplate or the original author’s marketplace product.

Example: You may use a dashboard template to build a paid SaaS dashboard for one licensed project. You may not allow SaaS users to download that dashboard template or use it to generate their own templates.

16. Product Categories Covered

This License Policy may apply to different product types available on WebbyTemplate, including:

  • website templates;
  • HTML templates;
  • WordPress themes;
  • WooCommerce templates;
  • Shopify templates;
  • UI kits;
  • Figma templates;
  • design files;
  • graphics;
  • illustrations;
  • icons;
  • photos;
  • presentations;
  • plugins;
  • code products;
  • digital assets;
  • other approved marketplace products.

For website-related products, the license limit is counted by site.

For non-website products, the license limit is counted by project or final end product.

17. Website Templates and Themes

For website templates, themes, landing pages, and similar website products:

  • Personal License allows use on 1 site.
  • Commercial License allows use on up to 5 sites.
  • Agency License allows use on up to 30 sites.

You may customize the template for the permitted site or client project.

You may not resell the template itself, upload it to another marketplace, give it away, or use it as part of a competing template product.

18. UI Kits, Figma Files, and Design Assets

For UI kits, Figma files, design files, and similar assets:

  • Personal License allows use in 1 project or end product.
  • Commercial License allows use in up to 5 projects or end products.
  • Agency License allows use in up to 30 projects or end products.

You may customize the design asset and use it in final websites, apps, interfaces, marketing materials, or client projects within the license limit.

You may not resell, share, publish, or redistribute the editable source files or modified design files as reusable assets.

19. Graphics, Illustrations, Photos, and Icons

For graphics, illustrations, photos, icons, and visual assets:

  • Personal License allows use in 1 project or end product.
  • Commercial License allows use in up to 5 projects or end products.
  • Agency License allows use in up to 30 projects or end products.

You may use these assets as part of a final design, website, campaign, presentation, or marketing material.

You may not sell or distribute the asset as a standalone file, stock item, icon pack, photo pack, graphic pack, template pack, or downloadable resource.

20. Presentations and Document Templates

For presentations, slide decks, document templates, and similar products:

  • Personal License allows use in 1 presentation, project, business, or end product.
  • Commercial License allows use in up to 5 presentations, projects, businesses, or end products.
  • Agency License allows use in up to 30 presentations, projects, businesses, or end products.

You may customize the product for your own use or client work within the license limit.

You may not resell the original presentation template, editable source file, or modified template as a reusable presentation product.

21. Plugins, Code Products, and Software-Related Items

For plugins, code products, scripts, components, and software-related products:

  • Personal License allows use in 1 site, app, project, or end product.
  • Commercial License allows use in up to 5 sites, apps, projects, or end products.
  • Agency License allows use in up to 30 sites, apps, projects, or end products.

You may customize and integrate the product into a permitted final project.

You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, publish, or include the code product as a reusable source product, competing plugin, template, software library, or marketplace item.

Additional open-source or third-party license terms may apply to included libraries, frameworks, or dependencies.

22. Third-Party Assets and Dependencies

Some WebbyTemplate products may include or require third-party assets, tools, plugins, fonts, images, libraries, frameworks, or external services.

These third-party items may have their own license terms, usage limits, attribution requirements, account requirements, fees, or restrictions.

Product descriptions or documentation may explain whether third-party assets are included, linked, used for demo purposes only, or require separate licensing.

You are responsible for reviewing and following any third-party license terms that apply to your use.

WebbyTemplate does not guarantee that all third-party assets shown in demos or previews are included in the purchased product unless the product page clearly states that they are included.

23. Demo Content, Images, Fonts, and Placeholder Assets

Some products may include demo content, sample images, placeholder text, fonts, icons, or preview assets.

Unless the product page or documentation clearly says otherwise:

  • demo images may be for preview purposes only;
  • placeholder content may need to be replaced;
  • fonts may require separate licenses;
  • third-party plugins or tools may require separate purchase or registration;
  • stock photos or media may not be included in the download package.

Buyers should review the product page and documentation carefully before use.

24. Open-Source Components

Some products may include open-source components, frameworks, or libraries.

Open-source components remain subject to their own license terms. Nothing in this License Policy removes or replaces open-source license obligations.

You must comply with any applicable open-source license requirements, including attribution, notices, redistribution terms, or source code obligations where required.

If there is a conflict between this License Policy and a valid open-source license for a specific included component, the open-source license may control for that component only.

25. AI-Generated or AI-Assisted Content

Some products may include AI-generated or AI-assisted content where allowed by WebbyTemplate.

Authors are responsible for ensuring they have the rights needed to submit such products.

Buyers may use AI-generated or AI-assisted product content only according to the purchased license and any additional product-specific terms.

You may not use WebbyTemplate products to train AI models, create competing template generators, build asset-generation systems, or reproduce substantially similar marketplace products without written permission from WebbyTemplate.

26. License Upgrades

License upgrades may be available where supported by WebbyTemplate.

For example, a buyer may be able to upgrade from:

  • Personal License to Commercial License;
  • Personal License to Agency License;
  • Commercial License to Agency License.

If upgrade functionality is not available, the buyer may need to purchase the higher license separately.

A license upgrade does not create a refund right unless allowed under WebbyTemplate’s Refund Policy or clearly stated by WebbyTemplate.

27. Additional Licenses

If you need to use a product beyond your purchased license limit, you must purchase an additional license or a higher license where available.

Examples:

  • If you bought a Personal License and need to use the product on a second site, you need an additional license or upgrade.
  • If you bought a Commercial License and already used the product on 5 sites, you need an additional license or Agency License for more sites.
  • If you bought an Agency License and need to use the product on more than 30 sites, you need an additional license or written permission from WebbyTemplate.

28. Refunds and License Termination

If you receive a refund for a product, your license to use that product ends.

After a refund, you must:

  • stop using the product;
  • delete downloaded files;
  • remove the product from active projects where reasonably possible;
  • stop using any source files, templates, assets, or code from the product;
  • not use the product for new projects;
  • not claim any continued license rights in the refunded product.

WebbyTemplate may refuse future access, downloads, updates, support, or license claims for refunded products.

29. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If a payment dispute, chargeback, payment reversal, or fraud claim is filed for a purchase, WebbyTemplate may suspend or terminate the related license while the matter is reviewed.

If the payment is reversed or not successfully completed, the buyer’s license may be cancelled.

Using a product after payment reversal, refund, or cancelled license may be considered unauthorized use.

30. Product Removal After Purchase

If a product is removed from WebbyTemplate after purchase, a buyer’s existing valid license may continue for the already permitted end product, unless WebbyTemplate states otherwise.

However, continued use may not be allowed if the product was removed due to:

  • copyright or intellectual property complaints;
  • legal violations;
  • fraud;
  • malware or security risks;
  • serious policy violations;
  • court orders or government requests;
  • other serious legal or safety reasons.

Product removal may also affect future downloads, updates, support, or availability.

31. License Duration

A valid license may continue for the permitted final end product unless:

  • the buyer receives a refund;
  • the payment is reversed;
  • the license was obtained fraudulently;
  • the product was used outside the license limit;
  • the product was used in a prohibited way;
  • WebbyTemplate is legally required to terminate access or rights;
  • another policy or product-specific term applies.

License duration is separate from download access, update access, and support access.

32. Download Access, Update Access, and Support

The license gives you usage rights under the selected license type.

Download access, update access, and support access are separate from the license.

Unless otherwise stated on the product page or applicable policy:

  • buyers receive 1 year of download access from the purchase date;
  • buyers receive 1 year of update access from the purchase date where updates are available;
  • buyers receive 6 months of normal author support from the purchase date.

When download access, update access, or support access expires, your valid license for an already permitted final end product does not automatically end.

However, you may need to repurchase, renew, or obtain a new license if you need further downloads, updates, support, or additional project use beyond the purchased license limit.

33. Product-Specific Terms

Some products may include product-specific license notes, technical requirements, third-party terms, documentation, or restrictions.

Product-specific terms may explain:

  • included files;
  • excluded files;
  • third-party assets;
  • required plugins;
  • supported platforms;
  • supported software versions;
  • usage restrictions;
  • installation requirements;
  • attribution requirements;
  • support limitations.

If a product page clearly states additional restrictions or requirements, buyers must follow those product-specific terms.

If there is a conflict between this License Policy and a product-specific term, WebbyTemplate may decide which term applies based on marketplace rules, legal requirements, and buyer protection needs.

34. Misuse of Products

WebbyTemplate may suspend access, remove downloads, cancel licenses, restrict accounts, deny support, or take legal action if a buyer misuses a product.

Misuse may include:

  • using a product beyond the license limit;
  • sharing product files with others;
  • uploading products to file-sharing websites;
  • reselling products;
  • creating competing marketplace products;
  • using products in prohibited builder or generator tools;
  • bypassing license checks;
  • making false refund or chargeback claims;
  • violating author rights;
  • violating WebbyTemplate policies;
  • violating applicable law.

35. No Ownership Transfer

Purchasing a WebbyTemplate product gives you a license to use the product under the selected license type.

It does not transfer ownership of:

  • the original product;
  • source files;
  • author intellectual property;
  • WebbyTemplate marketplace rights;
  • copyrights;
  • trademarks;
  • product branding;
  • underlying design or code ownership.

All rights not expressly granted under this License Policy are reserved by the original author, WebbyTemplate, or applicable rights holders.
